Vaishnaw Advocates Techno-Legal AI Regulation Balance

New Delhi, Feb 18 — Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Feb. 18 at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 said the government will adopt a techno-legal mix of technical regulations and laws to balance AI development and safety. He urged cautious, phased regulation for children’s social media access and said India’s IT firms are pivoting to AI-based services and small, sovereign models.
