TEXMiN Foundation Signs MoU With GIREDMET

TEXMiN Foundation, the DST Technology Translation Research Park at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, signed a memorandum of understanding with Russia's GIREDMET on Monday to collaborate on rare earth and critical mineral technologies. The MoU, inked during the III-2026 conclave, covers joint R&D, pilot-scale validation of extraction, separation and refining processes, permanent-magnet development, recycling technologies and digital-twin processing; delegates will attend RAREMET-2026 May 20–22, 2026.
Key Points
- 1Signs MoU to jointly develop rare-earth extraction, separation, refining, and advanced materials technologies
- 2Addresses strategic supply chains for energy transition, electronics manufacturing, and Atmanirbhar Bharat self-reliance
- 3Enables pilot-scale validation, technology translation, and training for industry-ready rare-metal processing solutions
Scoring Rationale
Official government-backed MoU increases pilot-scale R&D prospects and technology translation, but offers limited immediate industry-wide impact or commercial outcomes.
