Target Adds AI Shopping Features To App
Target quietly rolled out several AI-powered shopping features to its mobile app over the past year, Business Insider reports after testing them. The upgrades include a handwritten-list scanner that maps items to up to 20 product matches, a prominent 'Buy It Again' tab highlighting frequent or discounted purchases, and an in-store store-mode map using geolocation. Target said roughly one-fifth of merchandise sales came via web or app, about $21 billion.
