South Korea Reviews Sending Peace Envoy

Unification Minister Chung Dong-young said Monday that Seoul is reviewing dispatching a special envoy to neighboring countries to help facilitate U.S.-North Korea talks. Chung proposed last month appointing a "Korean Peninsula peace envoy" during a briefing to President Lee Jae Myung, and the unification ministry said it is coordinating the review with other agencies ahead of President Trump's planned China trip in April.
