South Korea Promotes Institute-Business AI Partnerships

South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT on March 23 promoted exchanges between four state-run research institutes and 16 companies to accelerate AI development across industries. Agreements include KAIST partnering with LIG Nex1 and Korea Aerospace Industries on AI decision systems for defense, and Gwangju Institute working with POSCO Future M and Sebang on an intelligent battery-manufacturing platform; Kakao pledged programs backed by 50 billion won. The moves aim to consolidate national technology capabilities.
