Soros-Funded Groups Launch Failed Retail Boycott

Organizations funded by George Soros’ Open Society Foundations, including Indivisible Project which received more than $7.6 million, recently ran a Thanksgiving-to–Cyber-Monday boycott campaign called “We Ain’t Buying It” targeting Target, Home Depot and Amazon for alleged cooperation with the Trump administration. The campaign gained little traction as retailers saw record traffic: 202.9 million shoppers over the weekend and Amazon purchases rose, aided by Rufus chatbot consultations that doubled purchase conversions.
Key Points
- 1Organized boycott targeted Target, Home Depot, and Amazon over alleged cooperation with Trump administration
- 2Highlights funding-backed activism: Indivisible received more than $7.6 million from Open Society Foundations
- 3Demonstrates limited consumer compliance as 202.9 million shopped; Amazon purchases rose via Rufus chatbot
Scoring Rationale
Credible retail and sensor data support findings, but limited novelty and mostly political framing reduce technical significance.
