Snowflake Expands Cortex Code CLI Support

Snowflake announced that Cortex Code CLI expands beyond Snowflake-native workflows to support dbt and Apache Airflow, now generally available, and introduces a standalone subscription enabling use without a Snowflake deployment. Since Cortex Code's November 2025 launch it has attracted over 4,400 users; the release also adds model choices (Claude Opus 4.6, OpenAI GPT-5.2) and enterprise governance controls.
Key Points
- 1Expands Cortex Code CLI to support dbt and Apache Airflow workflows, now generally available
- 2Provides enterprise governance and standalone subscription to enable secure, cross-system developer adoption
- 3Enables developers to use context-aware AI assistance across tools, speeding debugging and pipeline development
Scoring Rationale
Official Snowflake product expansion with wide applicability and standalone subscription; limited novelty since it's an extension of existing Cortex Code.
