Sahl AI Delivers Bilingual Arabic-English Medical Notes

This prospective single-arm pilot (Dec 23, 2023–Nov 28, 2024) developed and evaluated Sahl AI, a bilingual Arabic-English ambient medical scribe across outpatient, inpatient, and primary care settings in Riyadh. In stage 1 (n=64) the system scored mean PDQI-9 42.2/45; in stage 2 (n=55; 40 Arabic, 15 English) scores were 42.4/45 for Arabic and 37.8/40 for English, with physicians (n=22) reporting perceived time savings and comprehensive notes. The authors conclude bilingual ambient scribing is feasible in low-resource Arabic contexts.
