Punjab Expands Model Village Development Program

Punjab government on Mar 7 said it will uplift rural living standards by including 485 villages in its Model Village Program, preparing 138 PC-1 documents and approving 357 villages so far, with development contracts issued in 302 and tenders in 55. The program's cost rose to about Rs60 billion from Rs49 billion and will deliver sewage systems, paved streets, filtration plants, street lighting and AI-assisted surveys to improve infrastructure and data transparency.
