Organizations Strengthen Data Security With Generative AI

The 2026 Microsoft Data Security Index, surveying more than 1,700 security leaders, reports rising AI-driven data risk and adoption: 47% of organizations implement generative AI-specific controls, 82% plan to embed generative AI in security operations, and 32% of data incidents involve generative AI. The report urges consolidation to unified data security, adoption of DSPM (over 80% implementing or developing), and using generative AI to automate detection and response.
