Newsmatics Hosts 24-Hour Student Hackathon Showcasing News-Analysis Projects

Students from Brno, Czechia competed in Newsmatics’ 24-hour hackathon on Feb. 27–28, 2026, transforming Newsmatics news data into visual analyses and tools. Eleven teams (44 participants) presented projects on fake-news detection, trend forecasting and investigative tooling; the first-place Radek 12 team won 25,000 CZK for its PolyTics prediction-visualization project. The event was streamed on YouTube and supported by Masaryk University’s Faculty of Informatics.
