Netflix Sends Cease-And-Desist To ByteDance Over Seedance

Netflix sent a cease-and-desist letter to ByteDance on Tuesday, accusing its new generative AI video model Seedance 2.0 of producing high-fidelity videos that recreate characters and scenes from Netflix shows like Stranger Things, Bridgerton and Squid Game. Disney and Paramount issued similar demands, urging removal of copyrighted material from Seedance outputs and training data and demanding technical guardrails within three business days.
