Microsoft Embeds Agentic AI into Business Central

Microsoft is releasing the 2026 Release Wave 1 for Dynamics 365 Business Central, rolling out from April 2026 to September 2026 with the online Update 28.0 set of capabilities. The wave reframes Business Central as an active, agentic ERP platform by embedding expanded Copilot and AI agents that execute end-to-end business tasks, not just surface recommendations. The focal areas are finance automation, autonomous accounts payable, smarter purchasing and manufacturing workflows, improved integration with Dataverse, and a new Immersive Home experience for personalized, action-oriented workspaces.

The release increases the scope and autonomy of AI within the Business Central runtime and admin surface.
