Kaiser Mental Health Professionals Strike Over AI

About 2,400 Kaiser Permanente mental health professionals struck Wednesday in Northern California over concerns the company might replace therapists with artificial intelligence, the union said. The one-day strike, joined by more than 23,000 nurses and affecting care for an estimated 4.6 million regional patients, presses Kaiser during contract talks since last summer; the company says facilities remain open and AI will not replace human assessments.
Scoring Rationale
Timely, credible labor dispute highlighting AI governance needs, but regionally focused and lacking technical depth.
