IOSCO Launches TechSprint For Investor Education

IOSCO has opened applications for its first AI-focused TechSprint, run with the UK FCA AI Lab, with an online portal open from 2 March to 30 April 2026. Selected teams will join a virtual development programme and present at a Demo Day in Madrid on 8 October 2026. The sprint targets retail investors, soliciting solutions to detect AI-enabled fraud and educate investors about AI risks across jurisdictions.
Key Points
- 1Launches TechSprint to solicit solutions addressing AI-enabled fraud and investor financial education challenges
- 2Highlights regulators' concern over AI scams, deepfakes, misinformation threatening retail investor protection
- 3Encourages multidisciplinary teams to build adaptable, cross-border tools for education and fraud detection
Scoring Rationale
Strong official backing and broad, cross-border scope drive high impact; limited technical novelty and implementation detail.
