India Records AI-Driven Services Export Gains

The Economic Survey 2025–26 reports that AI adoption has materially increased India’s digitally deliverable services exports, using quarterly balance-of-payments data from FY2018–FY2026 and a difference-in-differences design. It estimates AI-exposed services exports rose about 39.5% after the AI diffusion beginning in Q2 FY23 (software ≈44%, business services ≈67%), notes services now equal about 10% of GDP, and warns these gains are not translating proportionately into jobs.
