India Forecasts AI Cuts Port Logistics Costs

Member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister, Gourav Vallabh, said on February 17, 2026 that India can save about ₹20,000 crore through AI-driven cargo handling and roughly ₹15,000 crore annually in logistics costs. Speaking at the AI Impact Summit, he and industry leaders urged accelerated policy, AI governance and tools like virtual concierges to close infrastructure and intelligence gaps in ports.
