Hong Kong Announces AI Infrastructure Expansion
Professor Sun Dong, Hong Kong's Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, announced at the 2026 WAIC UP! Global Summit on January 16 that the SAR government will establish the Hong Kong AI Research and Development Institute within the year and has funded 16 AIR@InnoHK AI and robotics labs.
