Hema Pattanashetti Warns Karnataka Closing Government Schools

Hema Pattanashetti, writer and Sammelanadhyakshe, on March 30 at the 18th Zilla Kannada Sahitya Sammelan in Dharwad warned against the Karnataka government's proposed closure and merging of government schools under the KPS Magnet School scheme. She said the move commodifies education and violates the right to education; she urged writers to mobilise public opinion, called for study of AI's impact on Kannada, and stressed protecting cultural heritage.
