Havok Releases Free UE5.6 Balloons Tech Demo

Havok has released a free Unreal Engine 5.6 tech demo called Havok Balloons on Steam, available for PC users to download and test Havok Physics’ destruction and particle systems. The DX12 demo requires at least an Intel Core i9-7920X, 32GB RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070, and recommends an Intel Core i9-13950HX, 64GB RAM and an RTX 4090; it needs 1GB disk space.
Key Points
- 1Showcases Havok Physics integrated with Unreal Engine 5.6 using DX12 and destruction particles
- 2Demonstrates performance benefits from UE5.6 optimizations for realism and complex physics simulations
- 3Enables developers to evaluate Havok’s pipeline and hardware needs before integrating into projects
Scoring Rationale
High practicality and official release drive score, but limited novelty and niche game-development scope constrain broader impact.
