G42 Launches Digital Embassies Greenshield Framework

Abu Dhabi-based AI company G42 on Tuesday launched Digital Embassies and Greenshield, an operating model enabling governments to retain legal authority and control over data and systems regardless of infrastructure location. Greenshield, implemented via G42 unit Core42's heterogeneous AI cloud, applies sovereign controls for identity, data handling, cybersecurity and auditability and is supported by a Microsoft partnership and planned UAE AI campus.
Key Points
- 1Introduces Greenshield operating model applying sovereign controls across cloud and compute environments
- 2Defines legal government-to-government arrangements to assert jurisdiction and data sovereignty across borders
- 3Enables governments to enforce national laws while using heterogeneous cloud infrastructure globally
Scoring Rationale
Official product launch with cross-border sovereignty focus, but limited technical detail reduces immediate implementation clarity.
