EU Expands Security Partnership With South Korea

On April 3, 2026, David McAllister, chair of the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs, told The Korea Times that the EU is deepening cooperation with South Korea and elevating security and defense ties to a new political level. He said the EU will step up Indo-Pacific engagement and pursue supply-chain resilience, digital trade, AI cooperation and climate collaboration to uphold the rules-based order.
