DBT Announces Bio-AI Hubs For Genomics

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh said at the India AI Impact Summit on Feb 19, 2026 that the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and BIRAC will establish 'Bio-AI Mulankur' hubs in 2026 to integrate AI-based predictions, lab validation, and data analytics for genomics, synthetic biology and Ayurveda research. He said DBT's AI-driven genome sequencing and projects like InTGS and GenomeIndia are enabling faster drug-resistance detection and personalised medicine.
