Datastrato Launches Apache Gravitino Metadata Lake
Datastrato released Apache Gravitino, an open-source, geo-distributed federated metadata lake tailored for multimodal, multi-engine AI workloads, and graduated as an Apache Top-Level Project in June. Version 1.1.0 shipped in December and Gravitino joined the Agentic AI Foundation in early 2026. The project aims to unify catalogs, improve metadata governance across Spark, Trino, Ray, and multi-cloud environments, and enable engine-friendly metadata for AI agents.
