New Zealand Corrections warned staff after a privacy risk assessment found some employees used Microsoft Copilot to draft formal reports, including Extended Supervision Order reports. Corrections says only the standalone Copilot Chat is allowed on its network, about 30% of staff used it since its November 2025 rollout, and leaders are reinforcing policy, auditing prompts and coordinating with the Privacy Commissioner.
