Cohere Partners With TKMS For Submarines

Toronto-based Cohere has struck a partnership with German submarine maker ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) to explore integrating its large language models into the Canadian Patrol Submarine Program (CPSP), which aims to procure 12 new submarines; TKMS was shortlisted alongside Hanwha Ocean in August 2025. The collaboration will focus on research, prototyping, onboard decision-support, information management, training environments and secure naval interfaces at depths up to 500 metres, following Cohere's recent defence agreements.
