CISA Director Uploads Sensitive Data To ChatGPT

Acting CISA Director Madhu Gottumukkala accidentally uploaded sensitive 'for official use only' CISA contracting documents to a public version of ChatGPT last summer, Politico and DHS sources reported. DHS opened an internal probe in August and Congressional hearings this month questioned Gottumukkala's leadership amid layoffs and a reported failed polygraph. The disclosures raise concerns that the material could be exposed to ChatGPT's roughly 700 million active users and prompt disciplinary action.
