China Records Surge In Generative AI Users

A report from the China Internet Network Information Center released Thursday said generative AI users in China reached 602 million as of December, a 142% increase from end-2024. The report gave sectoral breakdowns—457 million for Q&A, 288 million for images/videos and 184 million for personal assistants—and noted rising SME adoption, new AI company formation and strengthened regulatory registrations.
