China Deepens Cooperation On Green Technologies

China will deepen multilateral cooperation on green technologies and back photovoltaic, battery and new-energy-vehicle firms to expand globally, minister Li Lecheng said in a signed China Daily article. He cited President Xi’s 2025 Nationally Determined Contributions pledging to raise wind and solar capacity to 3,600 GW by 2035, noting China supplies over 80% of PV modules and produced 15.6 trillion kilowatts of PV modules from 2021–2024.
Key Points
- 1Announces support for photovoltaics, batteries and new-energy-vehicle firms to expand internationally
- 2Highlights China's dominance: supplies over 80% of PV modules and 70% of wind equipment
- 3Signals export and project opportunities in Belt and Road markets for green-energy firms and supply chains
Scoring Rationale
Official ministerial statement and sizable export metrics justify high impact, but it largely reaffirms existing strategy rather than novel policy.
