Central Square Foundation released the Bharat Survey for EdTech (BaSE) 2025 in February after surveying 12,500 children and 2,500 teachers across ten Indian states from July 2025 to January 2026. It found 63% of children and 87% of teachers use EdTech, but only 6% of children and 45% of teachers use specialised apps, with YouTube, WhatsApp and Google dominating; about half of EdTech-using children and over 80% of teachers know of GenAI, yet many mistake it for a search engine.
