Australian Fashion Council Launches National Manufacturing Strategy
The Australian Fashion Council (AFC) has launched a 10-year national manufacturing strategy to rebuild local textile, clothing and footwear production amid supply-chain disruptions from geopolitical tensions and the war in the Middle East. Developed with R.M. Williams after consultations with more than 300 stakeholders, the plan prioritises public procurement, workforce revitalisation and investment in automated spinning and modern machinery to boost onshore cotton processing and support domestic jobs.
