AT&T Demonstrates AI Boosting Cloud RAN Efficiency

AT&T, Ericsson, and Intel completed a Cloud RAN evaluation that tested AI-native link adaptation running on cloud-based architecture using Intel Xeon 6 SoC. The trial reported throughput gains of up to 20 percent and improved spectral efficiency by using commercial off-the-shelf hardware and a hardware-agnostic Ericsson software stack. Operators can use this approach to reduce total cost of ownership, avoid vendor lock-in, and accelerate AI RAN deployments.
