Apple Adds Third-Party Chatbots To CarPlay

Apple is working to add support for third-party chatbot voice-control apps from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and others in CarPlay, Bloomberg reports. The change would let drivers interact directly with ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini without routing through an iPhone, though Apple will not permit replacing the Siri button or wake word; developers can auto-start voice mode. Bloomberg says rollout could arrive within the coming months.
