AngelList launches Link for AI access to fund data

AngelList launched AngelList Link on July 23, a read-only MCP server that lets fund managers query AngelList-held financial and operational records from Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and other compatible tools. The product can return figures and supporting documents across eligible vehicles, while transaction and record-changing capabilities remain unavailable at launch.
AngelList launched AngelList Link on July 23, 2026, giving fund managers a read-only way to query records held on the AngelList platform from MCP-compatible AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, VS Code and Windsurf.
What launched
AngelList says Link can answer questions about capital calls, limited-partner commitments, uncalled capital, asset positions, distributions and fund documents. A manager authenticates once, then asks questions in an AI client; Link draws its answers from the same fund-administration, banking and investor records that AngelList maintains.
The company also emphasizes verification. Users can request the source document behind a figure, such as a capital account statement, subscription agreement or financial report. That design matters because a plausible answer is not enough for finance work: managers need to trace a number back to the record that supports it.
AngelList Link is read-only at launch. It cannot move money, send notices or change records. AngelList says a future write workflow will prepare an action for a human to approve, but that capability is not part of the current release.
Availability and limits
The product is for general partners and their teams whose funds run on AngelList, not for limited partners or managers using another administrator. AngelList says most venture funds and the vast majority of special-purpose vehicles are supported now. Support for Rolling Funds, Scout Funds and remaining vehicles is planned to expand progressively before the end of 2026.
Crowdfund Insider separately reported the launch and described it as AngelList adding agentic AI access to its platform. The more precise description is an MCP connection to AngelList-held fund data: the AI client is the conversational interface, while AngelList remains the system supplying the records.
For data and AI teams, the notable pattern is the combination of a domain-specific source of truth, read-only tool access and document-level verification. Those controls do not eliminate model error, and AngelList's own disclaimer warns that generated responses may be incomplete or incorrect. They do, however, make the output easier to check before it informs a financial or operational decision.
Key Points
- 1AngelList Link is a read-only MCP server for querying fund records from compatible AI tools.
- 2The launch supports questions about fund financials, commitments, positions, distributions and documents.
- 3Users can request supporting source documents, while money movement and record changes are disabled at launch.
- 4The service currently requires the fund to run on AngelList and does not provide an LP-facing interface.
Scoring Rationale
A relevant production launch connecting sensitive fund data to widely used AI clients, with clear verification and read-only boundaries, but limited to AngelList customers and backed mainly by company-supplied product details.
