Amazon Implements Tighter Controls After Outages
Amazon said this week it will tighten code-change controls after recent e-commerce outages, including a March 2 event tied to its AI coding assistant Q that caused nearly 120,000 lost orders and about 1.6 million website errors. A March 5 incident triggered a 99% drop in orders and 6.3 million lost orders. The company launched a 90-day safety reset across roughly 335 Tier-1 systems requiring two-person reviews and stricter validations.
