Alibaba Adds Agentic Payments To Qwen App

Alibaba adds agentic actions and native payments to its consumer-facing Qwen App, rolling the features into public testing in China on Jan. 15, the company said. The update lets users order food, complete in-chat Alipay transactions, book travel and make purchases via integrated services like Taobao Instant Commerce, Fliggy and Amap; Qwen App reached 100 million monthly active users within two months.
Key Points
- 1Adds agentic actions and native Alipay payments to Qwen App for end-to-end voice and text requests
- 2Integrates Taobao, Taobao Instant Commerce, Fliggy and Amap, enabling seamless commerce and travel workflows
- 3Enables conversational payments and bookings, reducing user steps and boosting transactional automation for practitioners
Scoring Rationale
Official product expansion with deep Alibaba ecosystem integration, valuable for commerce but limited novelty beyond known agent-payment features.
