Absynth Returns With Major Polysynth Overhaul

Three years after Native Instruments announced its demise in 2022, NI has relaunched Absynth as Absynth 6, a major overhaul of the polysynth. The release features a rewritten UI, an expanded granular engine with density up to 32, Moog-style ladder filters, MPE and poly aftertouch, and 415 new presets plus sample support. This preserves patch compatibility while modernizing sound-design workflows for expressive, texture-rich synthesis.
Key Points
- 1Introduces rewritten UI, expanded granular engine, Moog-style filters, MPE support, and 415 new presets.
- 2Revives a legacy synth with modern architecture, making it competitive with Serum, Pigments, and Massive X.
- 3Enables sound designers to create dense granular textures and expressive MPE performances with preserved patch compatibility.
Scoring Rationale
Official, substantial relaunch with modernized engine and MPE support + limited relevance outside music-production and sound-design verticals.
