Meta Adds Visual Nutrition Tracking To Glasses

Meta announced on April 1, 2026 it is rolling out an update to Ray-Ban and Oakley Meta smart glasses that lets Meta AI visually identify foods to assist nutrition tracking. Users must currently prompt Meta AI and set nutrition goals; automatic passive logging is promised later. The feature will arrive soon for US users 18+ on Ray-Ban and Oakley glasses, with Ray-Ban Display coming this summer.
Scoring Rationale
Official product update from Meta with clear relevance to applied computer vision; scored high for credibility and relevance but moderated for limited novelty and current manual operation, and modest technical detail.
