Anthropic Launches Project Glasswing To Harden Software

Anthropic on April 7, 2026 launched Project Glasswing with firms including Amazon, Microsoft and the Linux Foundation to use an unreleased Claude Mythos Preview model to detect vulnerabilities in critical software. Anthropic says the model found thousands of flaws, including a 27-year-old OpenBSD bug and a 16-year-old FFmpeg vulnerability, and that all reported issues have been patched. Anthropic pledged up to $100 million in usage credits and $4 million to open-source security groups; Mythos Preview will be restricted to partners.
Scoring Rationale
High score due to significant, novel industry collaboration and concrete findings; official announcement adds credibility. Score slightly boosted for timeliness and partner list, with a small deduction for limited technical detail and restricted access to the model.
